NBA Immaculate Grid: What It Is & How to Play

NBA Immaculate Grid is a daily basketball trivia puzzle: a 3x3 grid where each row and each column represents a category — a team, a stat milestone, a draft class, an award. Your job is to name one player who satisfies both the row and column category for each of the nine squares, without using the same player twice anywhere on the board.

Score it right on every single square with your first guess, and you've gone immaculate — the basketball trivia equivalent of a perfect game.

How Scoring Works

• Immaculate — every square correct on the first try, zero incorrect guesses.
• Correct, not immaculate — you filled all nine squares, but burned at least one incorrect guess along the way.
• Rarity score — most versions also grade you on how obscure your correct answers were compared to other players, rewarding deep-cut picks over the obvious superstar answer.

Strategy for Going Immaculate

1. Start with your most certain square — lock in guaranteed correct answers first so you know exactly what's left to solve.
2. Think journeymen, not superstars — a player who bounced around six teams is often more likely to satisfy an odd team/team pairing than an all-time great who spent his whole career on one roster.
3. Save your riskiest square for last — if you're going to guess wrong, better it happens on the square that gives you the least new information anyway.
4. Watch for players who fit an obvious cell almost too well — those are usually already used by the crowd, which tanks your rarity score even if you get the square right.
